Wolves are on the hunt for a January bargain purchase.
But while you might expect a defender or two on the list, the first rumours link us too a striker from Dundee and a midfielder from Scunthorpe.
Our friends over at Vital Norwich were one of the first to report the first rumour, linking us and them with Dundee forward Leigh Griffiths.
Griffiths a 20-year-old former Livingston forward scored 21 goals in 39 games last season before making the move to Dundee for £115,000.
While Dundee’s chief executive Harry Maclean has denied they have received a ‘formal’ approach their financial situation might force them to sell.
The other rumour comes from tribalfootball.
They have reported that a source close too Scunthorpe United midfield Josh Wright has said: ‘The interest in Josh is growing. Wolves and QPR are watching him closely and we expect more clubs to make themselves known before the New Year.’
The 21-year-old former England Under-19 international could be seen as a replacement for Dave Jones.
Vital Wolves Comment: Interesting links, I personally would have thought a defender or two, preferably with the experience of a Premier League dogfight would have been a priority.
However Mick has always liked to try and find young cheap talent to develop, so I wouldn’t completely write off either rumour at this stage.
