A 3-1 win over the Baggies not only gives us the bragging rights, but more importantly also puts us a point clear of the relegation places.

Within minutes of the second half kicking off, this game was all but buried.

A brace from Steven Fletcher either side of Adlene Guedioura effort, put Wolves 3-0 ahead after 47 minutes.

West Brom did get one back to make it 3-1 and they huffed and puffed for much of the second half, but the three points were never in doubt.

‘It is pleasing and timely to be out of the bottom three,’ our Mick told the BBC after the game.

But for those of you who have already trialled our Mick and decided he is a dead man walking, he did add: ‘I am still fully aware that there is work to be done.’

With two games remaining the feeling around Molineux will be that little bit more positive going into the games against Sunderland and Blackburn.

We might only be a point clear, but it now feels like we can build the momentum to avoid the drop.

Vital Wolves Comment: In my interview with the Vital Baggies site I predicted that we’d keep a clean sheet against the Baggies. My prediction was met with mocking.

But while Odemwingie who I did highlight as the dangerman did indeed score again, unlike in recent weeks, he had to rely on grabbing the goal from the penalty spot as he was shut out by Wolves in open play..which of course is great news going into the final games as the defence can also take a moral boost from the result.

It may not have been a clean sheet, but only being beaten from the penalty spot is as good as when the team are 3 up.
