Wolves have been linked with a double move on Manchester City, while Bristol City have denied reports that we have made a bid for their striker.
Nicky Maynard has been linked with a switch to Molineux for quite some time with the 25-year old putting in impressive performances in the Championship.
Other clubs including Premier League side QPR and Championship sides Ipswich Town and Leicester City have also been linked, but Bristol City gaffer Derek McInnes has confirmed that there have been no offers for his star player.
‘There is no truth in these rumours,’ said McInnes in the Bristol Evening Post.
Before adding: ‘As things stand, we have still not received a single bid for Nicky Maynard.
The other rumours consist of Wolves hoping to boost our defensive options by raiding Manchester City for their extensive list of cast-offs.
One name that has done the rounds for a while is former England Under-21 defender Nedum Onuoha who is now 25-years-old.
According to various internet reports we have made a bid of £2.5million which has been matched by QPR.
West Bromwich Albion, Newcastle and Sunderland have also been linked with him from time to time but as yet have failed to make a move for him.
Bolton are also thought to be interested but while Gary Cahill’s move to Chelsea drags on they are stuck in limbo.
The other possible move is the most unlikely, in the form of Wayne Bridge.
On paper an experienced left back with quality would be a superb move, but while he is on ridiculous wages of £95,000-a-week, this will never happen.
To complete the hat-trick QPR are also interested in Bridge, but despite their rich backers they are unlikely to match those wage demands so something is going to have to give if Bridge wants to kick-start his career away from Man City.
