There are only a few days left in this years January transfer window and it would seem Mick McCarthy has his eyes on a forward.
If the rumours are to believed our Mick has had his eye on a few targets, one was at Manchester United, one at Bolton and a couple more at Newcastle.
Our first target was to be Manchester United’s Mame Biram Diouf, however he has since signed a two-year deal with German side Hannover 96, which kills off that particular rumour.
The next target is apparently Bolton’s Kevin Davies at 34-years-old and Owen Coyle’s club captain, Davies would offer Wolves experience in abundance and crucially an eye for goal.
The internet has been doing the rounds with this one for a few days now and Wolves may even have competition from West Brom and Sunderland and that’s only if Bolton are prepared to let him go, which it would appear, they are not, so you have to wonder what is fuelling this particular rumour.
Up next could be a double swoop on Newcastle United with Leon Best and Peter Lovenkrands both targets.
Wolves thinking behind this move is that with Papiss Demba Cisse and Demba Ba returning from Senegal duty after being knocked out of the African Cup of Nations, Best and Lovenkrands will have been knocked down the pecking order and could well become available.
Wolves are yet to make an official approach to Newcastle gaffer Alan Pardew, but Wolves could well be happy with taking either of them, or both of them to Molinuex before the deadline slams shut on Tuesday.
