Stephen Ward and the rest of the Wolves squad are hurting over the position they find themselves in with just 10 games remaining.
Wolves are 19th in the Premier League, a solitary point above being bottom of the division.
We do however remain just one point away from safety, with the bottom five in the league cut adrift of the rest of the division.
‘It hurts me the position we are in and there is always going to be an edgy atmosphere around that – we are in the bottom three,’ Ward told Wolves Official Website.
It’s not ideal that our next game at Molineux is Manchester United, a game which is unlikely to give the supporters much to cheer about.
He continued: ‘I’ve been to games before in the crowd when it’s been edgy and we just have to make sure we do our job on the pitch and don’t let it affect us.
In a tense atmosphere, the shouts and chants from the crowd can affect the players, just as much if not more so then when the crowd get behind the team, with Ward adding: ‘You can hear what’s coming from the stands but it’s going to be like that when we’ve not given the fans enough to shout about this year especially on our home patch.
‘And we’ve not given ourselves enough to shout about either.
‘We want to do well for the fans and we want to make sure we stay in the league.
