Three points against Sunderland was obviously welcome, but I’m not going to let myself get carried away, after all it is just one game.
The season is long and while I don’t allow myself to get too despondent after a defeat, I won’t get too excited over a win either.
But after the week McCarthy had with the pressure slowly building up towards that game, the release he has had means that he believes that game to be the turning point of our season.
“It is a turning point. We`ve got three points which hasn`t happened very often this season.’ McCarthy told the Express & Star.
Of course Mick’s right, that win over Sunderland was only our third win of the season to-date.
So really, is it not too early to call it a turning point?
He continued: “Goodness only knows what it will do for the rest of our season, but it`s a turning point because we`re on 12 points and not nine.
“People will look at us and think they can beat us but maybe they`ll view us differently after this. If we`d been beaten it would have been a dreadful day for us.
Vital Wolves Comment: At least the win should slow down the McCarthy out bandwagon, although I doubt it has been derailed entirely just yet..
