With Steven Fletcher expected to depart Molineux for Sunderland over the next 24 hours, this season could be a big year for Kevin Doyle.
Many had expected the Republic of Ireland striker to be one of many departures over the summer, but unlike other players who handed in transfer requests and picked up 24 hour viruses preventing them from playing, the 28-year-old striker instead pledged his allegiance to Wolves.
He was heavily linked with a return to his former club Reading following their promotion back into the Premier League, but Doyle quite openly said that he wasn’t interested in a return to Reading and has even hinted that he isn’t after a move to a side that will be battling against relegation from the Premier League this year.
However that does not mean that he wouldn’t be interested in a move to Everton and the Daily Mail believe that David Moyes could well be set to make yet another move for the Ireland man.
Everton had a January bid rejected, but Moyes could rekindle his interest and was at Molineux on Tuesday, reportedly to watch Doyle and Stephen Ward.
Everton have money to spend this season after the sale of Jack Rodwell to Premier League champions Manchester City for £25million.
The Mail also believe that Stephen Hunt is set to make a move to Fulham.
Vital Wolves Comment: The exodus was inevitable, but at least in regards to Fletcher and Jarvis we should be bringing in a good amount of money into the side.
Doyle is also contracted until 2015, so fingers crossed Jez can get a good fee for him if Everton are set to make a move for him.
