Juventus centre-half Daniele Rugani may well be highly rated in the Italian game, but following their captures of Matthijs de Light and Merih Demiral, the 25-year-old has fallen down the pecking order and there have been strong whispers on the summer transfer rumour mill that head coach Nuno Espirito Santo wants to add him to our ranks for the coming 2019/20 Premier League campaign.
With only 20 appearances to his name in their successful 2018/19 campaign, a report from Calcio Mercato recently suggested that Juve were open to listening to offers for their former Academy graduate and we were linked alongside Arsenal with having a potential interest, with a deal said to be available for around the 30million Euros mark.
They do seem to imply that Rugani would prefer a switch to the Emirates Stadium, but our interest in the player is said to be stronger than Arsenal’s. Our preference seems to be the usual 12 month loan with an option to buy but Juve would prefer an immediate sale and have reportedly rejected a 24 month loan with Arsenal already.
However, Express and Star journalist Tim Spiers doesn’t seem to think we have any interest in the player and are looking elsewhere.
Reaction on social media was pretty interesting with plenty wanting him on board, and others dismissing the speculation as typical rumour mill nonsense.
Please buy him! I can see #gallobelotti only from very very far!

Spiers has just said we wont be making any more signings so I doubt this will happen plus we already have centre back cover, we need an attacking mid that can unlock a defence
