Wolves might have spent around £13million over the last year or so on Kevin Doyle and Steven Fletcher, but at Vital Wolves we want to see the return of the old Sylvan Ebanks-Blake.

We stepped up to the Premier League last season, with a ready to go, goalscorer in our ranks.

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake bagged 25 goals in the Championship and we tipped him to push for 15-20 in our first season in the Premier League.

Instead he struggled and eventually lost his place in the side.

With the signing of Steven Fletcher, Ebanks-Blake’s battle for a starting spot will be even harder this season. But will he rise to the challenge?

“I want Steven and Doyle to be at it and I want a response from Sylvan – to be the player he was in the Championship 12 months ago, scoring all his goals.’ Wolves gaffer McCarthy told the Express & Star.

Last season Sylvan Ebanks-Blake only bagged two Premier League goals. Once from the penalty spot against Aston Villa in October his second came against Blackburn in April.

Mick added: “Sylvan started in the team and came out. Let`s see what he can do now. They`ll all be thinking ‘we`ve signed a centre-half, a left-back, a left-winger and a striker and that means so-and-so isn`t going to play.`

“But it doesn`t mean that at all.’
