Who would have thought that a 1-0 defeat to Manchester United would prove so demoralising?

I fully expected a defeat. I`d accepted it and was pretty comfortable with it. It’s the way of the world in the Premier League.

Yes we had chances to get something from the game and if we go down by one point, we will all look back to Sam Vokes’s miss.

But lets come some perspective. This is a team that just put seven goals past AC Milan in the Champions League over 2 legs.

Against us, they struggled to get 1 and that should be a positive!

“I`m glad we`re playing well because that`s the only way we can turn it around. We`ve just got to get over Saturday`s game. It was demoralising and I felt bad after the game, but if I stop feeling like that after a defeat, I shall pack the job in.’ Wolves gaffer McCarthy told the Express & Star.

He added: “The players keep going – they got to keep coming back and keep believing that playing that way will see us OK.

“We did have four really good chances – and we had better ones than they did actually.’
