Chinese striker Wu Lei has been linked to Wolverhampton Wanderers once more – and it seems like many are split over whether he would be a good signing.
Spanish outlet Marca has stated that the Espanyol striker is currently negotiating a potential move to Molineux.
The report goes onto state that Wu Lei is solely focussed on keeping the Barcelona-based side in the top flight, however, the Chinese Player of the Year could well be off to the side that knocked him out of the Europa League back in late February.
Considering Wolves are currently having some problems upfront with Raul Jimenez and youngster Jose Campana looking like the only two out and out strikers available to Nuno Espirito Santo, then perhaps a move could be wise for the club.
There was a pretty varied response from the fanbase, with many stating that this could be a smart deal for the club possible marketing opportunities.
Many referenced the fact that 40m people watched his debut in La Liga – so that kind of additional interest will play into Wolves looking to increase their reputation on the world stage.
Here are some of the replies to the rumours, which was shared by the Twitter page @TalkingWolves.

Surprised he wasn’t bought for marketing reasons before he went to Espanyol, only cost €2m and had 40m Chinese people watch his first game. No brainer if he’s cheap enough.

I remember being linked with him a couple seasons ago, but thought he was fairly wasteful when we played Espanyol

So far this season, the forward has had a decent campaign. From 38 games in all competitions, he has managed seven goals and one assist, and before the player was bought to Spain in January 2019, he had scored 27 goals and made 10 assists in the 2018 Chinese Super League season.
Wolves obviously have great options in attacking positions, so he may not be one for the first team, but he could be a solid back-up choice.
