Sam Vokes loan move to Coventry has been delayed.
The young Wolves and Wales striker hasn’t had much luck with getting a loan deal organised.
Firstly his move to Derby collapsed on transfer deadline day, then Mick McCarthy decided to keep hold of him while Ebanks-Blake got back to full fitness.
Then what appeared to be every club in the Championship decided to make a loan move for him, complicating any move even further.
But yesterday, we reported, via The Sun, that Vokes had decided to move to Coventry and was set to move yesterday, but the deal has hit a couple of snags and now isn’t expected to be completed until tomorrow.
“We are in for a striker who should have been in on Monday but one or two things have occurred and we are hoping he will be in tomorrow,” Coventry City boss Coleman told The Coventry Telegraph.
However Coleman wouldn’t name Vokes directly, deciding instead to call him: “The kid’ He went on to add: There have been a lot of clubs in for him but he wants to come here, so that`s another feather in our cap.
‘And fingers crossed he will be joining us.”
Vital Wolves Comment: The move apparently will be listed as a 3 month emergency loan.
There as yet, has been no mention of a recall option or a loan fee.
