Sam Vokes continues to wait for his chance at the Premier League.
The 20-year-old Wales International is yet to start a game in the Premier League this season, having been limited to just four substitute appearances so far totalling just 41 minutes of football.
He then went on to have a spell with Leeds United before returning to Molineux to be involved in our FA Cup campaign.
“The main thing when I came back was to be in and around the squad – if I hadn`t been then I probably would have gone out on loan again.’ Vokes told the Express & Star.
He added: “In the meantime it`s looking good and hopefully I can get some games. Chris wasn`t playing much – like I was at the start of the season – so he`s gone out. It`s good for him to get some games. From my point of view I have to take that chance and hopefully be involved more.”
Vital Wolves Comment: With Chris Iwelumo now out on loan and Stefan Maierhofer slowing coming back from injury and without a game since December, Sam Vokes really does have a chance of fighting his way up the pecking order.
Vokes hasn’t been involved in a Premier League game since August, but has been in and around the first team, so it is only a matter of time before Mick believes he could make an impact.
