Sam Vokes time at Molineux looks to have come to an end with Burnley and Brighton alerted to his availability.
With 12 months remaining on his contract a decision on Sam Vokes’s future was imminent and expected around the same time as the Ireland tour.
The 22-year-old had loan spells with Championship sides Burnley and Brighton last season and both sides could be set to make fresh moves for Vokes now that clear the air talks have resulted in Vokes being told he can move on.
“For Sam I think it is best to find a new challenge, I have spoken to him about that and we have had an honest, open discussion.’ Wolves gaffer Ståle Solbakken told Wolves Official Website.
He continued: “If an offer is right and Sam is happy and we are happy he will be allowed to leave on a permanent basis.
“We haven`t had any offers to date but just had an open chat with Sam two days ago about what is best for him and for us.”
Vokes has scored just 9 times since making the move to Wolves four years ago from Bournemouth.
He has struggled to break into the first team with just 4 starts coming from his 59 appearances.
