Wolves ended the Premier League season with a 2-1 win over Sunderland at Molineux on Sunday.

We had to come from behind though as Kenwyne Jones’s deflected shot beat Hahnemann inside the opening 10 minutes.

But we weren’t behind for long as Kevin Doyle equalised from the penalty spot just two minutes later.

Guedioura then scored the winner 10 minutes from time with a lovely finish.

‘When you go behind, more often than not you don’t win but we made a great response. I’m delighted that we’ve won the game.’ Wolves gaffer Mick McCarthy told the BBC after the game.

He added: ‘We were great in the second half. We were fortunate when they hit the post at 1-1 but overall I thought we deserved the win.

‘I’ve been thinking about next season since Christmas, it never stops. We’ve finished on a positive note and I can go away and enjoy my holiday.’

Vital Wolves Comment: Interesting fact, it was the first time we had managed to score twice in a single game at Molineux and yet we finished 15th in our first season in the Premier League.

The pundits always claim its about taking your chances, but perhaps a solid defence and work ethic should also be praised once in a while?
