Andrew Surman’s first half goal secured the third successive victory – Official Site

AS predicted by Vital Wolves, new signing Andrew Surman played a big role in his English debut for Wolves against the side that gave him his Football League debut, Walsall.

Surman scored the only goal of the game during the first half, which was enough to please Mick. Although fitness is still key.

‘It’s another game – we wanted another good 90 minutes and we got one,’ McCarthy told WOW.

‘It’s still all about getting players fit and ready for the start of the season.

‘I’ve said before I hate pre-season, I hate it with a vengeance.’

Vital Wolves Comment: Glad it’s not just me then! Meaningless games against mediocre opposition hardly gets the blood pumping. Although having said that, much rather we played sides like Walsall and Port Vale than the silly trip to Australia.
