SUNDERLAND man Dean Whitehead could be a target for Wolves according to the highly reliable source, the Daily Star.

The 27-year-old midfielder is looking for a move after 5 years at the club as he fears getting stale (and probably a nice hefty sign on fee that a transfer brings).

McCarthy would have to put in a bid of around £3 million to tempt new manager Steve Bruce into selling.

Vital Wolves Comment: Experience, good work ethic, a captains head and yet I still don’t feel too convinced.

A reliable player, who will do all the non fancy stuff without getting noticed. He’s probably ideal but fails to grab the imagination.
