Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Dave Jones has undergone knee surgery which will keep him out of two months.

The 24-year-old felt the injury against Manchester United in the Carling Cup, but once the swelling went away he trained again ahead of the Sunderland game at which point it was decided that he needed to go under the knife.

“Jones has had a clean-up operation in his knee and will be out for two months.’ McCarthy told the Birmingham Post.

He went on to add: “He had a scan and has had the surgery on the knee.”
