Wolves drew 4-4 with Fulham in the Championship on Saturday.
An amazing game saw Wolves come from 3-1 down to lead 4-3 against Fulham in the last minute. However, the visitors scored in added time in this thrilling draw at Molineux.
Wolves took the lead midway through the first half when Kortney Hause headed in a corner from Helder Costa. However, goals from Stefan Johansen, Floyd Ayite and Tom Cairney turned the game in Fulham’s favour by the break.
Matt Doherty pulled one back on 65 minutes with Ivan Cavaleiro levelling the scores nine minutes later.
Paul Lambert was on for a first home win as Wolves boss when David Edwards smashed into the roof of the net in the 90th minute. But Ayite’s second for Fulham in the fourth minute of injury-time saw the game end in a draw.
Commenting on a ‘heart-attack material’ game Lambert was quoted by the BBC post-game as saying.
‘It’s not often you will see those types of games. It was exciting and I’m proud of the way we came back. We’ve got to be stronger defensively but we look a threat going forward. It’s heart-attack material. But that’s why you play the game and that’s why I have got back into it.’
‘The crowd here are a major factor. They were unbelievable for us. They were great. If we turn in performances like that week in, week out, this will be a great place. We were up against a really good side but, in the second half, we were outstanding. We need a little bit of help in January, there’s no two ways about it – a bit of know-how – but we have a young, talented team.’
