Wolves secured a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the Championship on Saturday.

Paul Lambert’s second win as Wolves boss saw us move to within a point and a place of Nottingham Forest – more importantly this victory took us five points clear of the bottom three.

Wolves broke the deadlock five minutes before the break when Helder Costa managed to force the ball home from a tight angle.

That goal possibly would have been enough but Wolves made certain late on when Ivan Cavaleiro profited on a Forest mistake to end the three game week on a high.

Lambert thought Wolves had been excellent on day and deserved the win. Post-match he was quoted by BBC WM as saying.

‘It is night and day from when I came in and that is no slight on anybody. I’m not going to say that we are going to do things great in a short space of time but if we can get progress, then that is the main thing. I thought we were excellent, full value and looked really composed. We have terrific attacking options, but we may need more personnel wise, but going forward I thought we were excellent.’
