Wolverhampton Wanderers issued a statement on Thursday afternoon following the vandalism of Ståle Solbakken’s car.
While his car was parked up outside his apartment on Wednesday night, a can of paint was poured over his car.
The Police are now investigating and spoke to the Wolves boss yesterday morning.
“I have already been asked about my car because people have seen it so it was decided to make this public rather than wait for any rumours to start, For me this does not affect in any way the good reaction I have had from Wolves supporters since I have been at the club.’ he told Wolves Official Website.
He continued: “I fully accept that there will be questions asked by fans after our recent run, but this is about protecting my family and that is why we have called the Police in to investigate.
“I would repeat though – I have nothing but praise for the support I have had, even during the bad times we have had recently.
“I think the Wolves fans are fair and very reasonable, and I am committed to bringing them the success they deserve.”
Vital Wolves Comment: Obviously as yet there is no evidence to suggest that this was done by a Wolves fan, but in all likelihood it was and Solbakken has certainly come to that same conclusion.
I’m not sure what this element of our support is trying to achieve with this kind of behaviour. We’ve already seen our fans turn ugly on Jamie O’Hara last season and now we’ve got an attack on our managers property.
What are these actions going to achieve? It paints a poor picture (sorry for the poor pun) on all Wolves fans.
