Mick McCarthy has warned hsi players not to expect a walk in eth park when they meet Leicester City on Sunday, needing a win to guarantee a play off place.

‘If we were 12th in the league, I would still want to finish with a win, so I can imagine what Leicester are thinking,’ he told the clubs official site.

‘It isn’t just about us. There will be some Leicester players wanting new contracts and some who might want a move, maybe also some young kids pushing for places for next season.

‘They will think this game is just as important to them as it is to us. There’s real meaning on both sides and they won’t want to help us out. QPR didn’t last weekend and Leicester won’t either.’

A win would see Wolves end the season in a position no one outside the club could have predicted when McCarthy first took over the reigns of a side virtually without a first team.

And with Derby and West Brom faltering above them, they may even achieve it as one of the favourites for the single richest prize in the history of football.
