Wolverhampton Wanderers have finally managed to secure the signature of derby midfielder David Jones.

Jones signed last week for an undisclosed sum on a three year deal and manager Mick McCarthy hopes the young left footer will form an integral part of Wolves latest promotion push.

Jones has the same pedigree as another of McCarthy’s signings, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, having played together in Manchester Uniteds’ youth team, where they both won the FA Youth Cup, and the Reds reserves, and he is evidently looking forward to renewing their friendhip.

‘I know Sylvan very well and it will be nice to be linking up with him again,” he told the E&S.

“We played for a few seasons together. We won the FA Youth Cup together – that was a great season because we were successful and we got really close as a group.’
