Wolverhampton Wanderers had every reason for celebration last weekend as an Adama Traore brace late on in the game against Manchester City returned all three points and sent us into the international break in great spirits after a more choppy start to our 2019/20 Premier League campaign.

One piece of news that may have gone under the radar for those fans who don’t consider themselves stattos, was that when Ryan Bennett came off the substitutes bench as Romain Saiss’s replacement in the 13th minute, it marked his 100th Premier League appearance.

Now 29-year-old Bennett may have been a surprise capture for many fans when he arrived at the Molineux as a free agent switch from Norwich City back in the summer of 2017, but he’s proven to be a reliable performer for us, and he now boasts 78 starting appearances for the club, with a further five showings from the substitutes bench – across our rise from the Championship into the Premier League and Europa he’s also contributed three goals and come in for plenty of praise across those years.

Having marked his 100th at the weekend, there was more praise for him as well when Wolves confirmed it.
