6ft 7ins Austrian international Stefan Maierhofer has branded training with Wolves as brutal.

He even fears having his leg broken in training!

‘People get stuck into you in brutal fashion during training.’ Maierhofer told the Daily Mail.

He went on to add: ‘I need to wear shinpads all the time – otherwise I’d have had my leg broken by now.’

All sounds rather worrying when taken out of context, but thankfully he did continue to explain:

‘The challenges are different to what I’m used to. We have a 35-man squad, and everybody wants to get into the team.`

So really he means that training is just overly competitive with every one battling to impress in training to earn a place in the squad on a match day.

Assuming no one does go on to pick up a serious injury it sounds rather good to me!

But do you think training should be a little bit more sedate? Why not let us know!
