Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to complete a loan deal for Northampton Town striker Ivan Toney.
The deal is initially a loan move, but will become permanent in January after the two clubs agreed a fee which could rise to around £1million.
Whilst the Express & Star ran quotes from Wolves Head Coach Kenny Jackett trying to claim that Toney was “not one where we`re close to, made any bids for or attempted to take on loan’, the player was believed to be at Compton undergoing a medical.
The 18-year-old initially came through the youth system as Leicester City but was released two-years-ago.
He joined Northampton and made his debut as an extra time substitute against Bradford in the FA Cup in November 2012.
His League Two debut came in August 2013 and his first goal followed in April this year as he ended the season with three goals in two games.
This season he has so far scored 6 times in 22 appearances, including one goal against us in the Capital One Cup.
