It’s being reported that Wolverhampton Wanderers are in talks with Odd over their talented young left-back John Kitolano.

The 18-year-old has made a handful of appearances for the Norwegian clubs’ first team as he starts to make his way in the professional game and it appears his pedigree and performances so far as he adjusts to a new level have caught the eyes of a few suitors.

The Mirror state that we have had the youngster looked at a number of times and we now appear ready to make our move and bring him into our Under 23 squad so we can see how he develops as one for the future.

They quote Odd club director Einar Handlykken as confirming that talks are taking place, but that we haven’t yet put in a formal offer.

“If we get a sale to Wolverhampton, then it’s good for us. No, we have not received a concrete bid, but there’s been dialogue.”

The players’ contract expires on December 31 so it looks like Odd are ready to cash in with his agent confirming, as per the report, that he won’t be extending his deal with them. The player was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo but has represented Norway so far at Under 17 and 19s levels on the international stage.

With such a focus on first team additions, it’s good to see the club continue work behind the scenes with move of an eye on the future.
