Former Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Andy Gray has ripped into the clubs’ performance in last weekend’s tie with Huddersfield Town.

Losing the Premier League encounter 2-0, the opposition were good for their victory and even head coach Nuno Espirito Santo didn’t dodge that fact as he spoke to the media following the game.

Speaking to beIn Sports during their coverage of the weekend’s action, Gray explained.

“This is the worst I’ve seen Wolves. Their retention of the football’s been poor – I mean poor. The decision making Wolves have made has been awful. There are misplaced passes, decisions about when to release it, getting caught in possession, not tracking players. Everything about the way they’ve played has been really, really poor. I think because so many of these players have played every game, sometimes you need to shake it up. Twelve games in, they just might be beginning to feel it some of them.”

Gray’s far from alone in not being impressed with the performance and as fans are keenly aware this is our worst run of form under the Portuguese gaffer since he arrived at the club and although his summation on the performance isn’t far from the mark, again everyone should’ve known we’d have ups and downs this year. So whilst I can see why Gray talks about changes now to freshen things up, a number of fans feel the same, I don’t see Nuno seeing it that way yet.

Whether that proves to be the right thing or not, remains open for debate.
