“Theory Was Shot Down In Flames” – BBC Pundit Has Huge Praise For Often Misfiring Wolves Talent

|

Sunday afternoon’s Premier League clash between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium turned into a bit of a humdinger for the travelling fans.

With a poor start to Premier League life when it came to our results as we coped with an early start to the year in the Europa League, there was solid improvement from head coach Nuno Espirito Santo’s boys again and having kept Pep Guardiola’s side out, inside of the final ten minutes of the game former record signing Adama Traore exploded to life and helped himself to a brace to give us our second win of the year.

With Traore playing such an important part in the 2-0 win with both his goals, BBC pundit Garth Crooks named him in his Team of the Week feature as we head into the October international break.

“This lad is what is commonly known in the game as a speed merchant but also as somebody who seldom delivers the killer blow. That theory (the killer blow part) was shot down in flames against Manchester City because Traore’s two goals against the champions may have already consigned Pep Guardiola’s side to a runners-up place in the title race. I have begged Wolves to ditch the Europa League for fear of a team with limited resources struggling in the Premier League. With results like this I need not have worried.”

A rich reward indeed and it’s not the only Team of the week feature that the 23-year-old has featured in after his weekend exploits, but it looks like Nuno’s efforts to improve him may well be coming off now.
