Plenty of Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have reacted on Twitter after the club released their ‘goal of the day’.

This footage dates back all the way back to 1989 when club legend Steve Bull managed to score a goal to help the club achieve back-to-back league titles.

The goal shows Bull heading home from the back post in their all-important match against Sheffield United, helping them secure promotion to the second division.

Unsurprisingly, Wolves fans don’t need an invitation to heap praise on one of their ultimate heroes – and many fans responded with messages.

One fan described the striker as a “hero”, while another called him the “greatest”.

Another supporter wondered just how many goals he would be scoring if he was surrounded by the current Wolves squad.

Here are some of the replies below…

With football being suspended until at least April 30 with the coronavirus outbreak, plenty of clubs’ Twitter accounts have been doing all they can to generate traffic – including what Wolves are doing with their ‘goal of the day’.

Whether football will get going again in late April will depend on how the virus continues to spread. One things is for sure though: Wolves will want to get it going again considering they are knocking at the door of Champions League qualification and the final eight of the Europa League.

I remember that game in a ramshackle stadium, it finished 2-2 and clinched the title of what is now League 1. We thought that was great after flirting with extinction just a couple of years previously. We owe a big debt to Bully and Graham Turner for making that step.
