Many Wolves fans have responded on Twitter to the claims that Besiktas could be resting some of their key players on Thursday.
The Istanbul-based side have been largely disappointing so far in this season’s European campaign. For a team that managed to reach the final 16 of the Champions League in the season before last, they seem to have gone massively downhill.
Considering they had a fairly favourable group with Slovan Bratislava and Braga, they will be disappointed that they are bottom of the ladder and have to go to Wolverhampton with nothing to play for.
Reports suggest from Bein Sports Turkey suggest that coach Abdullah Avciis will be more than happy to rest their important players considering they also have a hectic schedule coming up before they head into the winter break.
The story claims that Gokhan Gonul, Caner Erkin, Burak Yilmaz, Adam Ljajic, Atiba Hutchinson and Mohamed Elneny could all miss out.
Lots of Wolves fans responded to the claims after popular account @TalkingWolves tweeted about it. Many now think that they should also take the initiative to drop some players with a hard set of games up and coming.
That’s two weakened sides playing then

Pretty inevitable now they are chasing top spot, and can’t qualify. I expect Nuno to do the same to be honest and the main focus on the League game with Spurs on Sunday

Tbf they can’t qualify anyways

I’d say their 1st team ain’t that strong anyway

Hopefully we rest some of our big guns too. We already know Raúl can’t play, but quite a few others could do with a rest.

After Wanderers host the Turkish side, they will have a really hard run of games over the Christmas period, which could end up being season-defining.
In three of their next four they will have to play Spurs, Man City and Liverpool, so not only will they be wanting to take as many points off them as possible, but they will want to keep this unbeaten run of 11 games ongoing.
