Wolverhampton Wanderers social media team posted up a highlight reel a short time ago this morning to celebrate the birthday of goalkeeper John Ruddy.
The 32-year-old stopper came in from Norwich City on a free transfer back in the summer of 2017/18 and he’s notched up 47 first team appearances for us in the time since then, although he has only made two appearances in the EFL Cup competition in 2018/19 owing to the summer arrival of Portuguese international goalkeeper Rui Patricio.
Happy birthday John Ruddy! 🎉
A good reason to dig out the most dramatic three minutes of his Wolves career. Simply amazing…

He remains a firm part of head coach Nuno Espirito Santo’s first team squad though.
With today being a day of celebration, there is only one highlight reel that is needed to demonstrate his professionalism and importance to us as we rose to the Championship title and secured promotion back into the Premier League and that is a certain game against Cardiff City – and specifically three minutes out of that 90.

Happy Birthday. True professional. Outstanding season last season but remained professional and not spat his dummy out despite losing his place

The intensity of those three minute has not, & will not, diminish over time. Still all the feels.

He remains not the only player who comes out of that tie with incredible praise for putting their bodies on the line to secure the result.
Enjoy your day big man!
