Rohan Ricketts has left Molineux in a last minute loan deal, destination Loftus Road.

Glenn Hoddle’s first signing , Rohan has never quite lived up to his billing as a player once on the verge of an England call up.

Mercurial at his best, although more often described as inconsistent, he earned notoriety for turning up to the airport , heading for pre-season training in Spain having forgotten his passport.

Which hardly surprised his detractors who had often thought his performances on pitch suggested he had forgotten to turn up there as well.

Arguably, Rohan’s best performance in old gold and black was in Wolves 2-1 defeat of Reading at the end of the 2004/4 season, when he parted the Reading defence like the Red Sea, scoring Wolves winner, which may answer why he has failed to hold down a place in Mick McCarthy’s side.

A popular and likable guy, he simply doesn’t bring to the table the sort of qualities McCarthy looks for in a player.
