Mercurial midfield talent Rohan Ricketts has departed Molineux for pastures new, the first of “The Hoddle Three” to find a new home.

Ricketts, Glennda’s first permanent signing failed to hold down a place in his side, and was even less prominent in Mick McCarthy’s plans, ending last season on loan to QPR.

The 24 year old has now penned a two year deal with divisional rivals Barnsley after impressing whilst on trial.

He earned notoriety for famously forgetting his passport when Mick McCarthy took his first pre-season squad abroad, and was prone to forget which day matches were being played on if moved for the benefit of television cameras.

In two and a half seasons, he managed 47 appearances for Wolves, scoring twice and some would say often flattering to deceive.

Although his contribution at times was overlooked in favour of more high profile performers.

Never one to shirk defensive responsibilities, he could often be found deep in the heart of his own box and was a genuine creative talent in attack, supplying crosses for grateful teammates to tuck away.

There is a feeling at Olofin Towers that the player, who models his game on the great Ronaldinho, has a genuine talent.

If only it could be found on a more consistent basis.

Good luck for the future Rohan, and thanks for the memories.
