One of the longest honeymoons in recent Wolves’ history looks to be well and truly over, before even so much as a cross word has been uttered.

The response from some Wolves fans to a seemingly innocent comment from Michael Kightly regarding contract negotiations has been almost as sensationalistic as the headlines the player is currently generating regarding his value.

Maybe it’s the thought of a summer with no England team in competitive action. Maybe it’s the thought of no summer at all. Maybe there simply isn’t any thinking behind the belief that Michael Kightly should leave Wolverhampton Wanderers.

He hasn’t said he’s unhappy at the club. He hasn’t said he wants to leave. But you could be forgiven for thinking that was all true canvassing opinions on Kightly’s Molineux future.

The Internet isn’t always the best place to find sensible opinions, and the proof of that is in the belief that if Michael Kightly want’s to go over his contract this summer, then Wolves should sell him to the highest bidder and be done with him

I really had thought that I’d heard it all before.
