Many Wolves fans have reacted on Twitter to the rumours that Lazio are after Leander Dendoncker for a fee of around £25m.
Reports in Italy from the Corriere dello Sport are saying that the Rome-based side are more than serious about signing the versatile 25-year-old – and they want to pay even less than the £25m fee which is being touted.
It’s said that they see the fee as a bit too much for the Belgian, and they hope that Jorge Mendes might be able to pull a few strings which would see him available for a bit less, as per the reports.
However, considering that Dendoncker is represented by the Wasserman agency, it’s hard to see how the Portuguese super-agent fits into all of this.
Nevertheless, even with Dendoncker playing in every single Premier League game this season, the jury is very much out for whether he should be sold for that kind of money.
With popular fan account @TalkingWolves asking its followers about the potential move, there was a really mixed response, as you can read below…

Plenty of midfield players to choose from at Liverpool & Manchester United. Go and see how much they’ll charge you and what you can get for your money.

Speculation to justify some column space.
Nuno has a dream to build a football team (which he is going about in his unflappable style)
Be looking at strengthening the squad rather than selling.
Oh,it’s way under value 🤣😉— peter myers (@badgerpete15) June 15, 2020
Considering that there is a serious lack of options at centre back at the moment, it is quite surprising to see that some fans think he is worth selling for £25m.
While they would be doubling the fee they paid for him (£12.15, per Transfermarkt), they simply do not have the cover in the centre back positions now, with only Romain Saiss, Willy Boly, Conor Coady and Max Kilman can also at centre back.
Perhaps with a few reinforcements in the defensive positions then the club can consider letting him go, but until then it’s hard to see how they would benefit.
Ignore the glory hunters they would sell their own kids, we need to strengthen not deplete the squad.
totally agree
25 Million for a young improving international player, if they want him pay the price and it will be more than the 25 they think is too much.
