Mick McCarthy has spoken out about why it is best to not speak out.

The Wolves gaffer was discussing the reasons why Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey or owner Steve Morgan do not come out to the press to give McCarthy a public vote of confidence. When supporters are beginning to question Mick’s role at Molineux.

“Throughout my five years here, I`ve never needed someone to ring me up and say ‘keep going, you`re doing alright`.

“I`ve never had it, and the reason why Steve and Jez don`t do it is because we`d get headlines in the newspaper saying ‘support for McCarthy`. Mick told the Express & Star.

Ironically in saying what he has, he has actually revealed that there is ‘support for McCarthy’ as the relationship he has with the boardroom has not changed despite the poor run of results and he’s still backed by Moxey and Morgan.

Predictably though, five straight defeats have made the Wolves fanbase anxious and the McCarthy out bandwagon that fires up around this time of year, every year has got going.

A win this weekend is a must, otherwise it could all begin to start feeling rather uncomfortable.

Vital Wolves Comment: I’m beginning to forget what it was like to go through the winter months without a debate on whether the manager should be sacked!

The first time we asked the question on Vital Wolves was 6 Jan 2008, we had the same debate in 2010 and we’re having the same debate in 2011.
