Wolverhampton Wanderers enjoyed a 2-0 win over West Ham United on Wednesday evening and Joao Moutinho was one of many players to impress.

The 33-year-old pulled all the strings in midfield, seldom relinquished possession, created a lot of opportunities for his teammates and help turnover the ball on a number of occasions.

Is Moutinho one of the best players to have pulled on a Wolves shirt?

Yes, he is superb

No, he is good but hasn't played enough yet

Moutinho did a good job in nullifying the opposition. Declan Rice & Mark Noble failed to create a chance at Molineux and were criticised by supporters for underperforming on the night. Noble was even hooked at 70 minutes.

Against West Ham, the Portuguese international played a full 90 minutes, made 73 touches, won one aerial duel, created three chances, had one shot, completed 92.7% of his 55 passes, whipped in seven crosses with 57% accuracy, made three interceptions, drew two fouls, made one clearance and assisted Leander Dendoncker’s opening goal in the 23rd minute.

Moutinho has been a revelation at Wolves. The midfielder joined for a surprisingly low fee of £5m in 2018 and took little time to impress in England. He’s made a total of 70 appearances in all competitions, scoring and creating 17 goals, and is showing no signs of slowing down despite his advancing age.
