Wolves face Tottenham on Saturday, our favourite team from last season. Wolves completed an unlikely double over the London boys last season. In our first encounter, with Tottenham flying high (their last home game before meeting us they put seven goals past Wigan) and Wolves somewhat struggling to make their mark in the Premiership, few in the country, would have predicted we could possibly go there and win. Several months later we completed an improbable double with a second 1-0 victory at Molineux. Can Wolves take advantage of tired legs after a full week’s preparation and score a third victory in as many games?

Vital Quotes:

Tottenham Hotspur Team News:

Spurs players will be in the ice baths most of the week surely shaking off aches and knocks from their European affair. Spurs fans can share on the forum who they expect will play and/or be rested.

Player to watch: Crouch

Peter Crouch. His goals per game ration for Spurs and England puts him right up there with the best. He has improved so much over the last three of four years he is a menace and always likely to score.

Wolverhampton Wanderers Team News:

Kevin Doyle was on fire for Ireland and made an impact at Fulham. Remains the danger man and is due a goal, although Blake has already netted two, whilst we have 7 million pound man Fletcher chomping at the bit although not entirely fit?

Player to watch: Doyle

Kevin Doyle. After two man of the match performances for Ireland, and creating the goal against Fulham last week, the player is on a high and also due a goal. He also scored at White Hart Lane last year which may prove an omen.

Match Facts & Stats

Match Prediction:

Wolves beat Spurs by one goal twice last season. My heart tells me that we can sneak another one nil win, but Spurs, whilst enjoying European football, known that they won’t be enjoying it again next season unless they improve their league form. My head tells me a draw due to the strains of their European antics and hopefully tired legs. It is all very well playing the kids in a League Cup game, but the Champions League is so lucrative they of course will field their strongest side in every game. Wolves will have had a week to prepare for this game and will be looking to get back on track from last weeks defeat. Considering we have some appetizing home games ahead of us, I feel a point would be sufficient. Anything more will be a bonus.
