Wolves face Tottenham on Saturday, our favourite team from last season. Wolves completed an unlikely double over the London boys last season. In our first encounter, with Tottenham flying high (their last home game before meeting us they put seven goals past Wigan) and Wolves somewhat struggling to make their mark in the Premiership, few in the country, would have predicted we could possibly go there and win. Several months later we completed an improbable double with a second 1-0 victory at Molineux. Can Wolves take advantage of tired legs after a full week’s preparation and score a third victory in as many games?

Wolves beat Spurs by one goal twice last season. My heart tells me that we can sneak another one nil win, but Spurs, whilst enjoying European football, known that they won’t be enjoying it again next season unless they improve their league form. My head tells me a draw due to the strains of their European antics and hopefully tired legs. It is all very well playing the kids in a League Cup game, but the Champions League is so lucrative they of course will field their strongest side in every game. Wolves will have had a week to prepare for this game and will be looking to get back on track from last weeks defeat. Considering we have some appetizing home games ahead of us, I feel a point would be sufficient. Anything more will be a bonus.
