Wolves will take a versatile approach to life back in the Championship according to Ståle Solbakken.

Recent seasons have seen the likes of Swansea play an almost continental passing style and Blackpool with an aggressive attacking system to earn promotion to the Premier League.

But Solbakken would prefer to concentrate on adapting his side to different conditions rather than one outright philosophy.

“I think it`s a good mix in the Championship, But you also need to be direct sometimes. There are some tough winter periods here also where you can lose some points if you pass it too much, so you have to find the balance.’ Ståle Solbakken told the Express & Star.

He continued: “It`s not easy to pass a team to death in the cold of January or February maybe. You meet some teams with a different kind of football and you need to stand up to everything.

“We have to have that in mind as well. With 46 games, you need to build a good base so you can take some points on a bad day.”

Vital Wolves Comment: Interesting comments, but surely a team that is aiming for promotion would want to stamp its authority on the opposition rather than worrying about what they might do to you?
