Romain Saiss’ performance against Braga on Thursday was criticised after he made two errors leading to goals, and Matt Doherty was also slated by supporters on social media after a less-than-convincing outing at the Braga Municipal Stadium.
Wolverhampton Wanderers drew 3-3 against Braga, blowing a 3-1 lead in the second-half, and although Doherty wasn’t culpable for the two goals Braga scored, he wasn’t at his best over the 90 minutes.
The 27-year-old is always a threat going forward and scored a brilliant headed goal for his troubles, but fans felt he was suspect defensively on Thursday night and didn’t do the best job keeping Braga contained.
Matt Doherty is quite suspect defensively. What he is renowned for most at wolves is his attacking play as a wing back. I don't think he has the discipline to play as an out and out full back. He's been shaky tonight Vs Braga. He was at fault for Braitwaite goal against Denmark.

Mixed performance from Doherty but a great run for his goal. It's been said before but he needs a chant even if it's a stock chant "We've got Matt Doherty" #wwfc

As per WhoScored, Doherty played for 90 minutes, made 73 touches, won one aerial duel, had one shot, completed 77.3% of his 44 passes, whipped in two crosses, made three interceptions, gave away four fouls and made one successful dribble.
The Republic of Ireland international has made 19 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring and creating four goals. He’s expected to keep his place at right-back when Wolves lock horns with Sheffield United on Sunday, so his performance against Braga won’t have been too harmful.
