Will Norris has an uncertain future at Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer as he’s been short of playing time for the Midlands outfit.

The 26-year-old has been on the periphery ever since he arrived at Molineux and currently finds himself behind Rui Patricio and John Ruddy in the pecking order.

Norris embarked upon a loan move away this season to get regular playing time, but he underperformed and lost his place between the sticks, so it’s no surprise why supporters from We are Wolves are happy to let him go.

Which club did Wolves sign Raul Jimenez from?

Freddie Evans: “Think Ruddy and Norris will both be off and Sondergaard will step up a bit more.”

Ryan Perry: “Wouldn’t mind (a replacement for) Ruddy and Norris tbh and then eventually Rui.”

Graham Palmer: “Sondergaard is better than Norris. Sell Norris on.”

Keith Taylor: “Norris hasn’t been as successful as we all hoped. Maybe it’s time he moved on.”

Phil McCrudden: “He doesn’t even look like a goalkeeper.”

Alan Fairclough: “I think we will sign another gk this year.”

Norris joined Wolves from Cambridge United in 2017 and has gone on to make eight appearances in all competitions, conceding five goals and keeping six clean sheets. The shot-stoppers last outing in a Wolves shirt came in their 1-0 win over Fulham (May 4, 2019) – his only appearance in 2019.

Norris was loaned out to Ipswich Town last summer, joining up with former Wolves manager Paul Lambert at Portman Road. He made 20 appearances for the Tractor Boys before the season was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, conceding 25 goals and keeping only five clean sheets.

He’s been short of form in the Championship, however, losing his place to Tomas Holy in February, so it’s hard to see Wolves considering him as Patricio’s backup if Ruddy leaves.
