It was being reported on Monday afternoon that Wolverhampton Wanderers fullback Jonny Castro was now set to face a six week spell on the sidelines having picked up an injury during Spain’s friendly with Bosnia on Sunday.

I didn’t see the game so have no idea on how bad his problem looked, but Sky Sports have reported that he was replaced by Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta in the second half of the game following a clash with Middlesbrough player Mo Besic.

They report that he’s sustained knee ligament damage, but if the six week marker is correct, it obviously could certainly have been worse for the 24-year-old.

With 13 appearances under head coach Nuno Espirito Santo so far in the Premier League campaign of 2018/19 he’s adjusted well to the club and has already won over plenty of fans who were disappointed with the departure of Barry Douglas.

I’m not yet seeing official confirmation from the club, but again, at least it doesn’t sound like it’s as serious as it could’ve been.
