According to The Athletic, Jordan Graham knew ‘in early February’ that ‘he wouldn’t be offered a new contract’. The 25-year-old will be released when his deal expires this summer, but he’s known for many months that he was surplus to requirements.

Which club did Wolves sign Raul Jimenez from?

Graham has been on the periphery at Wolverhampton Wanderers for nearly three years and never stood a chance of being retained with Adama Traore, Daniel Podence, Diogo Jota and Pedro Neto are ahead of him in the pecking order this season.

The 25-year-old has made 17 appearances across the board since joining on a permanent deal from Aston Villa in 2015 but things fell apart two years later. Graham admitted asking for a loan move following a fallout with Nuno Espirito Santo over his preferred role in the side, forcing him to watch the Midlands outfit get promoted to the Premier League months later.

Graham’s chances of getting playing time at Wolves diminished as a result of their success, so the winger opted for more temporary moves. And after coming to the end of a two-year deal signed in 2018, it was clear Graham’s future was up. Wolves have much better alternatives now, so the 25-year-old won’t be missed next season.
