Report: Wolves ‘want’ €25m-rated playmaker, agent has ‘received calls’ from 9 clubs

According to Sempre Milan, Wolverhampton Wanderers ‘want’ Dominik Szoboszlai this summer and may have to battle SS Lazio, AC Milan, SSC Napoli, Paris Saint-Germain, Sevilla, Tottenham Hotspur, Atletico Madrid and Arsenal to procure his signature. Journalist Alessandro Jacobone said the 19-year-old’s agent has ‘received calls’ from nine clubs, so Wolves may struggle to bring him to Molineux.

Szoboszlai joined RB Salzburg from FC Liefering in 2018 and has gone on to make 59 appearances in all competitions, scoring 15 goals and making 23 assists. The Hungarian international is coming off the back of an outstanding season, scoring 10 goals and making 17 assists in 38 games, so it’s easy to see why Wolves are showing an interest.

Whether he’d get much playing time at Molineux remains to be seen, however, as Nuno Espirito Santo already has Daniel Podence, Adama Traore, Pedro Neto and Diogo Jota at his disposal. Szoboszlai is a talented player, but should Wolves pay €25m to sign another wide-man? The Midlands outfit have a more fervent need to strengthen at centre-back, central midfield and centre-forward.

It’s also worth questioning whether the 19-year-old would pick Wolves over Lazio, Milan, Napoli, PSG, Tottenham, Atleti and Arsenal too.
