Report: Wolves ‘vying for 23 y/o’s signature’, wide-man has €38m release clause

According to the Daily Mail, Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in Milot Rashica and may have to battle Aston Villa, Brighton & Hove Albion and West Ham United to bring him to Molineux this summer.

Liverpool were previously keen on the Werder Bremen wide-man, but Sky Sports say they’ve pulled out of the race, so Wolves are now just one of four English clubs ‘vying for the 23-year-old’s signature’.

Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig are among the foreign sides interested, but the Daily Mail say they’ll need to trigger Rashica’s €38m (£33.62m) release clause to acquire his services.

Which club did Wolves sign Raul Jimenez from?

The Kosovan international joined Bremen from Vitesse Arnhem in 2018 and has gone on to make 64 appearances in all competitions, scoring 23 goals and making 11 assists.

Rashica has two years remaining on his deal at the Weserstadion, but he may be leaving before his contract comes to an end. Before the Covid-19 pandemic halted proceedings, the wide-man had a hand in 15 goals in 24 games this campaign and has attracted a lot of interest as a result.

The Daily Mail say Rashica’s release clause could drop to €15m (£13.27m) if Bremen suffered relegation from the Bundesliga before June 15, but it’s more likely Wolves will need to pay full whack if they want to sign the 23-year-old.
