According to Milliyet, Wolverhampton Wanderers are keen on Christian Luyindama and may have to battle Everton to procure his signature. The 26-year-old has impressed at Galatasaray in the last 18 months, so he may not be granted a departure this summer.

Which club did Wolves sign Raul Jimenez from?

After a successful loan spell last season, Luyindama turned his move permanent from Standard Liege ahead of the new campaign. He’s made a total of 32 appearances in all competitions for Gala and had a hand in three goals.

The centre-back has been out of action since November, however, after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament and being forced to undergo surgery, so he missed the last four months of the season. Luyindama did return to fitness last month, so Wolves have the green light to make a move.

Milliyet say Gala have slapped a €15m asking price on Luyindama’s head, more than twice what they paid last summer, but the Super Lig side are desperate to keep him at the Türk Telekom Stadium.

Nuno Espirito Santo has Conor Coady, Willy Boly, Max Kilman, Romain Saiss, Dion Sanderson, Ryan Bennett and Leander Dendoncker at his disposal, but Saiss and Dendoncker are natural midfielders while Bennett has an uncertain future and could be sold in the coming months.

The Midlands outfit have been linked with Manchester City’s Tosin Adarabioyo, LOSC Lille’s Gabriel Magalhaes and Sheffield United’s John Egan among others, so a new face is expected at Molineux this summer.
