Wolves have made an offer for Porto midfielder Jesus Corona, a report from a print edition of Portuguese newspaper A Bola has revealed.
Those of a Wolves persuasion ought to already be familiar with the Portuguese champions this summer, having completed the club-record signing of 18-year-old attacker Fabio Silva, and a loan to buy deal for 20-year-old midfielder Vitor Ferreira from the Iberian club.
18-year-old right-back Tomas Esteves has also been linked with a move from Porto to Molinuex, and it now seems as though Wolves could make it four signings from one club this summer.
According to the latest reports, the Midlands club have made an offer of between €22m and €24million to secures the services of Corona, who has scored 27 goals and provided 39 assists in 219 appearances in all competitions since joining Porto from FC Twente back in 2015.
It is thought that Porto have rejected that offer, with the club demanding €30million for the 27-year-old, who has two years remaining on his current contract with the Portuguese giants, putting them in a decent negotiating position.
Unlike with those other players to have made the move from Portugal to Molineux this summer, it doesn’t feel as though there would be as much of a risk with this particular deal.
Corona is an experienced and established player at a high level of football, having been a consistent performer for Porto for several years now.
As a result, Nuno ought to have no concerns about putting the midfielder into his side should he make the move to Molineux, and you feel that after a flurry of young signings, a more experienced target, who still has plenty of time left in his career, could be well worth pursuing.
Buy him. I am 88 years old Wolves fan from Sweden since 1946 when played IFK Norrköping 1-1.
