Report: Wolves ‘interested’ in 23 y/o forward who ‘wants to leave’ his club this summer

|

According to Der Spiegel, Wolverhampton Wanderers are ‘interested’ in Milot Rashica and may have to battle Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund, Aston Villa and West Ham United to procure his signature. The 23-year-old has been in fine form for Werder Bremen this season, but Der Spiegel say his future is uncertain as he ‘wants to leave’ in the coming months.

Which club did Wolves sign Raul Jimenez from?

Rashica joined Bremen from Vitesse Arnhem in January 2018 and has gone on to make 64 appearances in all competitions, scoring 23 goals and making 11 assists. As per WhoScored, the Kosovan international has had a hand in 11 goals in 20 games this season.

He’s created 32 chances, completed 73.8% of his 409 passes, won 11 aerial duels (33%), made 43 successful dribbles (57.3%), had 59 shots with 37.2% hitting the target, whipped in 106 crosses with 21.7% accuracy, blocked 16 passes/crosses/shots, made eight clearances, won 37 free-kicks and made 16 tackles.

Der Spiegel say Wolves may have to pay €38m to bring Rashica to Molineux, but it remains to be seen if he’s a genuine target. Nuno Espirito Santo has Adama Traore, Diogo Jota, Pedro Neto and Daniel Podence at his disposal, so why would he need to bring in another forward?

Rashica can operate up front, he’s more of a natural wide-man and doesn’t possess the target-man qualities Nuno is after. Wolves have been after AEK Athens striker Nelson Oliveira and Torino’s Andrea Belotti, so it’s hard to see them pursuing the diminutive Bremen attacker.
