According to Mundo Deportivo, Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in Oscar Rodriguez and may have to battle Schalke 04 and SS Lazio to procure his signature.

The 21-year-old has an uncertain future at Real Madrid and ‘will leave’ Los Blancos this summer if his €20m asking price is met. Clubs will also have to include a ‘repurchase option’ should Real want to bring him back.

Rodriguez rose through the youth ranks to the fringes of the Real first-team in 2017 and has gone on to make one appearance in all competitions. He’s been short of playing time at the Santiago Bernabeu and was loaned out to CD Leganes in 2018 to continue his development.

The Spanish U21 international has made 60 appearances across the board for Leganes, scoring 11 goals and making six assists. He’s due to return to Real this summer but is unlikely to get much playing time under Zinedine Zidane as Isco, James Rodriguez, Reinier and Brahim Diaz are ahead in the pecking order.

Wolves shouldn’t be met with resistance from Real if they make a move, but it remains to be seen if they can beat out interest from Schalke and Lazio.
